HOST TEAM

As a volunteer on the Host Team, you get the opportunity to help create a comfortable and welcoming environment for our guests to come and experience Jesus. Host Team volunteers understand that new visitors form an opinion about New Church within the first minutes of their experience. From the second a guest pulls into the parking lot, the Host Team creates a comfortable environment so people can be open to hearing the truth of God’s Word.

Whether you are serving in the parking lot, the front doors, or the lobby - our goal and responsibility as the host team is to create a comfortable environment for guests by offering a sincere greeting and acknowledging each guest as they arrive and enter our building.

Volunteer Positions:

Greeting Team

  • Greet each guest enthusiastically as though you were expecting them. Show them you are glad they are here.

  • Personally escort any guest who asks where something is located. This helps them feel valued. Avoid pointing or giving directions.

  • Stay in your assigned area until 15 minutes after the service begins to be available to greet anyone who comes in late.

Parking Team

  • Greet guests by smiling and attempting to genuinely connect with them through their windshield.

  • Clearly direct guests to available parking spots or into the building.

  • Stay in your assigned area until 15 minutes after the service begins to be available to greet anyone who comes in late.

First-Time Guest Team

  • Stand at the First-Time Guest area ready to welcome and engage with any first time guests.

  • Be aware of relevant information and sources that would be helpful for first time guests to know. Like our website, upcoming events, ways to plug in, etc.

  • Have knowledge of each ministry area including ages and locations for children’s and student ministries.

Time Commitment:

  • We ask all of our Host Team volunteers to serve a minimum of twice a month.

  • All host team volunteers are asked to arrive 45 minutes before service (8:15 and 10:00 AM) to attend a 10 minute huddle and be ready to greet and welcome guests 30 minutes before service begins and stick around 10-15 minutes after service to greet people as they leave.

  • Ideally, all of our volunteers would sit in on one service and serve the other.

  • If you will miss your opportunity to serve, please inform your team leader ASAP.
